British Gas price freeze.

Just had an e-mail from British Gas offering me the chance to freeze my Gas and Electricity prices until April 2010. They guarantee the the current price +2.5% for gas and -4.8% for electricity for the period.
Seems like a pretty good offer to me, maybe too good. Am I missing something?

there's talk that gas prices might fall. Also beware the BG freeze as it costs to get out of it. £75. I think.

It`s a pity they did`nt freeze the price before their last THREE massive increases in the last 15 months.
Anyone still with these con merchants needs their head examined.

OK, maybe BG are a bit more expensive, and they do put their prices up a couple of months before everyone else, but ultimately the other suppliers all put the prices up as well. I'm just thinking that if prices continue to rise as they have been, then it seems like a pretty good deal. Unless, of course prices do go down again.

If it was 'capped' I'd be tempted but a 5 year fixed term mortgage is bad enough as I am finding out at the moment, stuck with 5.89% !!!

If this deal was any good to the consumer,BG would`nt be offering it.
