Inland Rev...Problems!

My husband received a cheque form the tax people as he had paid too much tax over the past year about £500 - which is a nice big cheque if you are not expecting it!:j

On the cheque they had put his name the wrong way round so his first name was his last name and last name was his first, so we rang them up and told then, they advised us to send it back with a letter saying to re-issue a new cheque and it should not be a problem.

So we did - a month and a half later we receive a letter from them asking us to fill out a new form....we phoned them up to question why we had to do this, and they said it was because they had LOST my husbands original paperwork from when he first came to the country (2 years ago)!!!!:mad:
So they asked us to fill it out and THEN they would re-issue a cheque to him.

I dont understand this as they sent him a cheque in the first place as he was paying too much tax (they must have had all of his details for them to do this) and now they wont sent it again as they dont have ANY details???!!!!!

Im so frustrated and so is my husband!!!!! i cant believe that no-one in the office understands ANYTHING!:mad:

I have written a letter of complaint to them, however as they are so far behind in opening post i assume they will just dismiss our frustration. And i have a feeling that they wont re-issue a new cheque!!!??

Im so frustrated and angry with them as the people in the office DO NOT HAVE A CLUE ABOUT ANYTHING!

I can believe that noone in the office understands anything!:D I share a building with them and they've had so many job cuts in the civil service they are hiring loads of temps to do the work - think if you don't hear anything back you'll just have to keep calling - and make sure you ask to speak to the person in charge - don't waste time with the general office staff as they won't give a damn! I have a good mind to go down there any pay them a visit! (and no...i wont do anything i will just give them a piece of my mind!)
