Transferring money to a Halifax account - do I need the roll number

Hi,
On Monday I will need to transfer some money from my Lloyds TSB current account to a Halifax current account. Faster payments can't be sent via Lloyds' online banking yet, so I will have to give them the details over the phone. Do I need to give the Halifax roll number as a reference, or are the sort code and account number sufficient?
Thanks,
Rob

Halifax won't need your roll number to direct the money to your account. The sort code and 8-digit account number will suffice.
If LTSB's systems insist (some banks do!) on *something* in the reference field, then you can either give them your roll number or just tell them to put "from LTSB FP" or something similar.0 -

I think the OP meant that as faster payments with ltsb can be done via phone banking but not with online banking, the OP intends to phone up, and was unsure whether doing a transfer over the phone would mean different information would be needed.
You are correct in the information you gave though so all OK!!!Indecision is the key to flexibility0 -

Sounds strange to me. I'm aware of the banks phasing in faster banking, and discriminating on amounts or destinations, but I've not heard of them discriminating between how the transfer is instigated....Conjugating the verb 'to be":

At a later date, Faster Payments will also be introduced for our Internet Banking customers.
