Wow making minimum payment on the £3,000 I owe barclaycard would cost me £1,991 by the time the debt was payed off, paying double reduces the interest to around £500. Impressive and scary at the same time.
    Barclaycard 3800

Nothing to do but hibernate till spring

My mum tells me she went through this etc and life gets better but she had her family in the 70's when there was no credit crunch and the houses were so cheap!

To get this into perspective; there were years in the 70s when house prices DOUBLED in one year, building societies wouldn't take the wife's salary into account for mortgage purposes and inflation was over 14%!! Listen to your mum; she knows what she's talking about.

    Hi Everyone

Just sat down with a cup of coffee and wanted to post a new thread called "living on the edge" but came across this one and it has virtually said all that I wanted to. To all of you who say you have bad days and Cry, well so do I and in fact last night I came home from work, did the tea then got in my car and drove to Mum and Dads in tears as I just wanted to off-load to someone other that DH. They know that we are going through a tough time, Hubby is in the diminishing building trade and work has been scarce so we have no savings. I just dread the bills coming in knowing that we have no spare money and go to bed worried and wake up worried. It's such hard going that our quality of life is just awful right now. The laughter stops and the tears flow. What are we like eh ?

So to you all on here who feel down, here is a big HUG to you all to keep going and to stay strong, and it is okay to let your feelings show and to cry:A lets stick together and remember that we are not alone in our bad times!
