DH works 48 hour week and I am on contract of 8 hours per week ( I have 2 small children) but Im doing 20 hours on top of my contract hours at the moment to help pay the bills.

Anyone else find this too?
Trying to pay our debts off and then start on saving for deposit on our first house (renting at moment). At this rate though its gonna take bloody years!!!!!
Off to work in a moment and working tommorrow too. Cant be arsed though drives me bonkers having to be nice to ppl (im sales assistant) when Im !!!!ed off with my finances

Sorry to hear things are getting you down. Have you got a plan? If you do a SOA the kind peeps here will have all kinds of suggestions for getting the bills under control. Hey sugarpants.... sorry things are getting on top of you.
Call BT, they are generally pretty obliging re bumping payment for a month or so....
I've always worked full time and i know it sucks when no matter how much you do, it's never quite enough....
Do you get paid weekly or monthly? it can take a while for the rewards for working extra to filter thru to the paypacket but i'm sure they will soon.....I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
I couldn't agree more... i work 30 hours and my DH works 50+ with two children. Thanks to our debts we are still £350-400 a month short and living in the overdraft..... I can't stop crying today, because we have just had our tax crs stopped and owe them money because our earnings went up last year. My salary has changed due to hours change and I have budgeted for more than I will be getting by mistake.... so in one day I income has gone down by £85 a month.
We are trying really hard to manage and not go on a DMP but it is so difficult with such a difference between our income and outgoings. I have played around with the SOA so much this week I am dreaming about it....
We are even considering swapping our mortgage over to int only without any investment building up, just to help us in the short term. I am sooooo tired of it and cannot stop playing with flippin numbers and then crying. ARGHHHHHHHHHHThe good you do comes back to you.DFW Long haul supporters No: 134

hi all - seems a lot of us are in this boat too - i anticipate our tc will go down to next to nothing and we will end up owing them once again.
Both work full time and never seem to get in front, really frustrating and demoralising. To be honest im holding off doing our annual review until the very last week coz i know i cant manage for the next 6 weeks with no money from tcFocusing on clearing the credit cards in 2018 :T0 -
Thanks guys x
Ruby,I have a good cry most days too. Hugs hun. Isnt it a nightmare juggling debt, and being a working mum, and also try to keep your relationship with the other half going HARD? Drives me potty when ppl at work ask am I OK? I have to say yes, but feel like screaming NO and revealing all my debts and probs on them all.
My mum tells me she went through this etc and life gets better but she had her family in the 70's when there was no credit crunch and the houses were so cheap!
You are lucky to have a mortgage we cant even get on the ladder as prices are too high here. WE would both have to earn 60k EACH to get a decent 3 bed house. AGHHH!
Post back Ruby. Im here for support hunxSAVING FOR OUR FIRST HOUSE DEPOSIT
