Orchid Dialler Wishlist

I have just bought an Orchid Dialler, version 4+, primarily on the recommendation of this forum. I am quite happy with it, but I feel it would benefit a few minor changes to make it a near perfect product. These are my suggestions:

1) Since configuring the dialler, my BT bill is completely free of chargeable calls except, and here’s the irony, the calls that the dialler makes to the server! It would be good to be able to configure the dialler to only dial the server on certain days and within certain times, via the CWClient, to ensure that the calls are free. This would be adequate for my needs, but others may also like to be able to configure a prefix for these types of calls.

2) As my dialing routes are time-based, it is imperative that the dialler uses the correct date and time at all times. As it stands, this is currently very difficult to determine from the device or the CWClient. It would be good if the dialler had a small LED display to show, at a glance, whether the time is correct or not.

3) If the dialler needs updating, for example to obtain the correct time, it would be helpful if there was a small “force home” button on the device, in addition to the telephone code that can be dialed via the handset, so that it can quickly be reconfigured by someone who has little knowledge of it, when the main user is not available.

I would be glad to hear of your support of these suggestions, or otherwise please add your own here.

Cheers people!
Hal

You can change the dialler call home number but it should only use the 0845 once anyway and change to a national rate number.

Hi Britbrat – thanks for your reply!
Mine does phone the national number (01536) but, for me, these are chargeable by BT, if made during the day.
