  • The reason we wanted to leave SP was because their customer service is atrocious. After we first moved in we were getting estimated quarterly bills for over £400 (again, a two bedroom ex-council flat), and it would take so long to get them sorted at the correct level that by the time we did, we'd have debt collection threat letters coming in.

Until recently they did not allow online billing, their automated payments system never works, and their call centre is only open til 7 PM, so four times a year I would be getting home from work around 6 and then spending up to an hour standing there on hold with SP just trying to pay the flamin' bill.

If that wasn't bad enough, a meter reader once showed up stinking drunk at 12:30 PM. I was home alone and had to let a strange drunk man into my house.

Lousy service, lousy customer care, and no choice in the matter.
