Best Portfolio Split suggstions

Hi All.

I'm about to start an investment portfolio and would like suggestions on the best split between cash deposit/stock and shares (both individual and funds)/bonds/etc...

What are peoples suggestions and why?

Thanks

Andrew.

The split should be based on your personal risk profile and not anyone elses.

Many providers offer a portfolio builder and base that on risk questions which you are asked.

An initial charge is not uncommon when you purchase your products via an advice process. However, paying a fee and getting value for money is more important. In addtion, picking quality is important.

You seem concerned over the 4.5%, which in itself isnt that bad. However, I would be more concerned that you picked a bank to buy the product. A product I wouldnt even consider if it had no initial charge let alone a 4.5% one.
