Free Ben&Jerry's Ice Cream!! (if you give blood!)

well said, Fairdo. Stop being so mercenary, you lot! Giving blood is one of the most generous and noble things that any of us can do, so stop moaning about a bit of flipping ice-cream!!“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.” Charles M Schulz0

My main freebies were a free day at a posh gym (like who can spend a day there?) and then a few hard sell phone calls to join said gym.0

Yes, it appears to be for students only as quoted from this page:
"Now in its third year, the partnership seeks to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation amongst students - who with any luck will carry on donating until they're 70 years old and above - that's as many as 160 pints!"
Ok for me though as I started college part-time in September and have my NUS card. Free ice cream, yummy....:D
It does also say:
"If you're between aged 17 and 70, weigh at least 7st 12lbs (50kgs) and are generally in good health then you should be able to donate. However, if within the last 12 months you've either had a body piercing, tattoo or travelled to a country where you can catch malaria then you won't be able to just yet. For more information on who can and who can't give blood take a look at the NBS website."He huihuinga taangata he pukenga whakaaro – A meeting of people; a wellspring of ideas (Maori proverb)0 -
i contact the blood donor helpline and they said that university venues are closed sessions so only available to staff and students.
Oh well its tea and biscuits for me then

The nearest one to me is plymouth which is 150 miles away!!!!!!!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
North Devon seems to be totally forgotten about when it comes to promos, although it isn't forgottem about by ruddy tourists who come here littering the place, taking up all the parking (including the 2 spaces with 1 car) and jamming up the roads. It took 3 weeks to clean up from the summer tourists this year!
<thinks about following them home and posting their rubbish through their letterboxes 'one foot in the grave' style!>
Anyways, I'm PETRIFIED of needles but I recon that ben and jerrys could be a good incentive for me.Watch out people. You don't know what lurks around the corner for you![/SIZE]0 -
Ben and Jerrys ice cream yum phish food is my favourite. I got some Ben and Jerrys last year its not a new thing and although they give certain locations on the site they were given away at one i went to last year which wasnt mentioned. Watch out for Mince pies at christmas, Billy blood drop beanies and funny keyrings!! The biscuits they have are rank but they might even venture to a kitkat chunky if youre lucky!! if you arent lucky enough to get ben n jerrys then increasing the donation stats from 6% of the population will surely be worth it!!

Whilst Ben & Jerrys have their hearts in the right place, why not give an armful anyway? If you're of an eligible age (17-70 I think) and reasonably healthy, it takes about half an hour. Look upon it as a piggybank in case you get hit by the Clapham omnibus one day.
Treat yourself to a Ben & Jerrys tub afterwards in the afterglow of having Done a Good Thing.0
