    Hello Miss Ratty,
Can completely understand your fears. Regarding bankruptcy at 27, though, the upside is that your 30s (the absolute best decade, I reckon), 40s (bit of a stinker so far in my experience), 50s (unknown territory), 60s (ditto) etc will never be as bad. Much better to take control of this now. I really don't think you should worry about what the OR will think of your debts rising recently. That's how interest rates work and they will have seen it all before. I've lost count of the thousands and thousands I've paid in monthly repayments on a secured loan only to see the total rise each year!
    Anyway, good luck and welcome
    Lily
ps If any of your work colleagues were iffy about the psychiatric treatment, they will almost certainly be the ones to be iffy about financial problems. If they were supportive about that, they will be supportive about this too. At least, that's my experience so far.

I hope so, and they were wonderful about that. I was wondering, when I file for BR, do I need to have the details of all the people I've spoken to etc? I'm so stupid, and didn't write their names or what dates I rang them, but I did write down the companies and all the advice they gave me.

As far as I understand it, just the names of the organisations you consulted should be sufficient. If you want to go for belt and braces, put your client number (if you went as far as having a client number and received any post from CCCS etc) down on the form too.

    Hi Miss Ratty
Hope all goes well for you with your bankruptcy.

Why dont you go back to CCCS or NDL for further advice and guidance? There are items in your budget that will not be allowed, such as smoking costs, so you need some expert advice on how to proceed from here.

I do hope you find that the professional debt advice charities and people on this forum will not judge you as soon many of us are in the same situation. Generally speaking you will find the court & OR non-judgemental as well.

With regard to any assets usually they are looking for items worth approx £1000 or more so your general belongings should be safe.
