Hello all, we are looking at upgrading our RCD. We have had a quote recently and was hoping to gauge some opinions. Our house is over 100 years old and has had some DIY done by previous owner:
Earth cable (30m) £41-00
Metre cable, earth cable, clamps, light fittings (x3) and light switch (x4) £29-00
7+7 split load dual RCD £110-00
Certificate with Part P £60.00
Labour 23 hrs £640-00 including fitting of RCD, bonding, upgrade tails and earth connect to PME, bit of plastering in fuse cupboard, fit two new light fittings. Light switches and plug sockets to be checked.
Any comments would be gratefully appreciated.

I think your material prices are about right but 23 hours labour even for an difficult house is quite excessive. I would say a days work for one person is enough0
