I would like to clear something up after spending over £100 a week for the last 4 weeks at Sainsburys and only gettinbg a few Nectar points.
If i spent that at Tesco's I would recieve 100 clubcard points. times that by 52 weeks in the year that woud give me 5200 points. I collect BA Miles so would that amount of clubcard points give me 124800 miles?
Could someone please check my workings out and confirm or correct it. Thanks, am seriously considering swapping my supermarket.

Just checked and if you have 5200 points you in effect have £52 worth of vouchers.
The website says £65 worth of vouchers gives you 1500 airmiles which is a zone 2 flight ie to Venice. It all works out good in the end.If it's not good, it's not the end!0 -
I don't understand as Sainsburys/nectar points give double the amount of points per £1 than Tescos do with their clubcard.0

Hi ,
I have only my clubcard for a couple of months .... so have been reading up on them ....
I'm sure that i have read somewhere on this forum board that you get more BA miles than " normal airmiles "for each point that you exchange .. I'll have another look for the info and will post a link if i find it.
Also you can apply for a tesco clubcard plus which gives you double points , here's the link on here for some info ..

There is quite alot of info to be found on paid to shop as well .... ( you have to register ... but it's free !! )

you get double the points, but each points value is half that of tescos
so 2 nectar points at sainsburys = 1p, but one clubcard point at tesco = 1p

if you spent £100 a week for 52 weeks you would get 5200 points (or £52). you can only convert in multiples of £2.50, so you could convert £50. this would give you 1200 airmiles
unless you already collect airmiles elsewhere, then just converting your tesco vouchers isnt really worth it, as it takes so long to build up a decent level.
the clubcard tokens would be better spent converting to deals, and using for travel/hotels instead. ie £52 of tesco points, converted into deals would give you £208 towards hotels around europe. then just book cheap flights independently,

Sadly, 5200 Clubcard Points only gives you 12480 BA Miles. 250 Clubcard Points converts to 600 BA Miles or 60 Airmiles.
Strategic shopping at Tesco can pay off though - we usually make between 25000 and 50000 BA Miles per quarter this way, with little or no effort.
It is getting harder to amass lots of points now though.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

Ooops. Just done my maths wrong but nearly there. I have been a collector of BA miles for many years and having travelled Club World many times don't want to go back to cattle class. As shopping is getting more and more expensive thought I would use the cost to better use than Nectar points which I spend the odd-one at Argos but with BA miles could be put to more use.**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? Tesco Clubcard points are a good way to get BA Miles cheaply for upgrades.
I actually didn't make the best economic use of mine this year - WT+ NCL-LHR-YVR using the BA Miles to pay for the tickets.
Don't shout - that deal suited me. I know I could have upgraded a purchased ticket, but didn't want to.
Also, when I booked the flights back in November, redemption availability on LHR-YVR was very poor. Little did I know that we would now be hurtling towards a Gordon Brown recession and BA would release an unheard-of number of redemption seats on this route close to the date as they obviously aren't getting cash-paying bums on seats!!!
We're off next Friday....wooo hooo!
Already got 72000 BA Miles saved up for the next trip!!

Just a quick reminder to anyone who is unaware, but you do now need to collect your vouchers in quarterly incriments, unless you are registered with the Xmas club in which case your vouchers will recredit every quarter and come out in one lump sum in November. Please also note that any "top-up" for this cannot be used in airmiles or deals.
In the old system you could automatically register your Clubcard account to transfer into Airmiles, or Buy and Fly (if in ROI). You are now required to send your vouchers off to have them convertered. Dont ank why they changed, but no automatic registration from the tail end of last year.
If you require any further information, call the freephone on the back of a Clubcard, or find it online. I'm sure this is one of the simple queries operators dream of over the course of the day :-)0
