Advice On Message Form Buyer Of Mobile Phone Please

I sold my partners mobile phone (she did know!!) as she has recently had an upgrade. We placed on Buy It Now with Best Offer for £72. We received an offer of £60 and felt this was fair so accepted. I have just recieved a message from the buyer stating that he has now paid for the item (confirmed) and that he has included the postal address (Mr Ali) for sending.

I am a little bit worried as I remember on another post that you should not post to unconfirmed addresses- is this right?

Also as im sending recorded and I do not think this is the buyers personal address could the buyer just insist that he has never signed for the item etc.

I would appreciate any advice on this matter. Is it acceptable to state that I will only send to the address on record or shall I send to the address given on the payment details?

UPDATE:
I have just checked Paypal and it stated the following:

You must send to the address shown below to be protected under PayPal's Seller Protection Policy.

And the address given was the address I have been given to send- so these is good is it not?

you need to send to the confirmed address
recorded is insufficient as it only insures to 36 pounds
    you need special delivery

As the amount is over £36 you should post via Special Delivery, otherwise you're not covered if the phone gets lost/damaged. Make sure his address is confirmed before posting.

Can I just ask whether the address is a UK one, just in case!

Phones should never be offered for sale overseas as they cannot be covered against loss in the post.

one thing I have always done whenever Ive sold a mobile phone, is to take a photo of the serial number etc that is under the battery. A friend of mine sold a phone once and then the buyer told her there was something wrong and so she had them send it back - when she got it back it wasnt the phone she had sold but couldnt prove it and still had to refund the buyers payment.....cant be too careful I feel

Thanks Custardy. I offered the buyer the option to take insurance which he declined but in hind sight I should have included it the postal price in order to cover myself i think??

In answer to Soolin it is a UK address. Thanks

I now think its legit but im worried about the postage (my fault). I charged £4.00 as planned to send it second class recorded. Im guessing Special Delivery will cost a lot more so will be out of pocket??

You must send it special but it isn't a great deal more so you won't be too much out of pocket.

Incidentally, I did post on one of your other threads that the phone had the wrong postage quoted, for some reason I was able to send you a pM at the same time which was a shame.

special delivery will only be £5.05 up tp 500g or £6.40 up to 1kg. the extra £1 or £2 is deifinitely worth it.

So I recently posted a mobi to an unconfirmed address to a zero feedback buyer. But he gave me a positive! But it was to a works address and I'd checked what he'd been bidding on in the last 30 days. Special delivery of course for the tracking.
