Halifax credit card - 'good junk mail'?

I have today received junk mail from Halifax cc.

There is a specific code to quote when i apply and i was wondering if anybody knew if this is likely to be favourable for my application or was simply for marketing purposes?

I would say for marketing so they can track why people apply.

    I'm not so sure,

I got some 'Junk Mail' today, maybe the same one. 15 months 0% on purchases, 6 months 0% on balance transfers, not a bad card by anyones standards.

Anyway I rang for some info, gave the code etc and was told it was 9 months at 0%, obviously I said this was wrong and asked that he checked the code again and hey presto 15 months, full steam ahead.

Did you get it. I am assuming you applied by phone and will 'get a decision in minutes' ?

    Yes I got it,

I've been looking for a purchase card as I'm getting in 2 months. I had planned on going for the capital one card but I got the Halifax letter today and decided to see what it was before ripping it up!

Rang up for the info, decided to apply and it was all sorted in a matter of minutes. The provisional limit was double my current BOS card but I did change jobs a few months ago.
