My wife and I currently pay £672 annually for both our Gas and Elec with Npower (not capped). However with the BBC recently saying prices could go up as much as 40% by the end of this year I am very eager to get on a fixed rate.
So if we were to switch to Scottish Power it is estimated the annual bill will be £788 but we would fixed till August 2009 plus we will get a £75 cashback will Quidco!
Can anybody give me there opinion and tell me if that is a good deal??
Thanks

The scottish power deal, appears to be a good option, however there's no way of predicting when and by how much prices will rise.
Providing you have used annual consumption and not direct debit to provide a more acurate estimation. The deal you have with Scottish Power is approx 17% dearer than your current tariff with npower.
If prices were to rise by 30% next month, you'd be better taking this deal.
But if prices only rise by 10% next month and another 10% to July 09, you'd be better sticking with your current deal.Sealed pot challenge no 5820 -

I have already taken the plunge and committed to Scottish Power
Checking the kwh it is only the first elec threshold which make a big jump which is approx 15%, everything else is around 2-3% or even lower! :T
Plus with the cashback on Quidco (if it tracks ok) I could be in pocket!0
