fraud email ?

What is the way to check if an email is a fraud ?

I received one from my bank and have forwarded it back to them but dont know how long it takes banks to reply.

Theres a link in the email for me to click to verify my account but im scared to click it lol

I don't know about your bank, but my bank (hsbc) never sends emails.

Just supposing I clicked the link what would happen ?
Im not blonde, im just thick when it comes to pc security and stuff

It would most likely take you to a spoof site, that looks identical to your bank, then fool you into entering all your details, including card number, pin, and CVV number. I tried it on an old PC, that was due for disposal, for a laugh to see what would happen. It would probably also download some spyware, keylogger etc.
