Mac not showing photos

Hi there we recently bought a macbook for the first time and I put all my photos from my old visa machine onto dvds but when i put them in the macbook it says they are empty? I tried them on my mums windows machine and they show up? help!!

    What format are the photos in?

    Did you burn them straight to disk, or are they burnt as some strange proprietary "Picture CD" thing?

    What software did you use to burn them?

    I just drag and dropped them over to the disc???:confused:

    It looks like its the format you burned the dvd is the issue.
