Hello
In the past I've been able to download videos from YouTube by using sites such as "KeepVid" which make the process fairly simple and easy to understand.
I'm now trying to download a video from a composer's website and it will not work. The site is arranged so that on the webpage are small images of each of the videos which can be played. You click on the image, and a new small window opens which plays the video using Adobe Flash Player. This small window does not have a web address of its own which can be pasted into sites like KeepVid.
I have two browsers due to a previous problem, and what I described above occurred using Firefox. I have also tried going to the site using Internet Explorer...... in this case when the small window which plays the video opens, this window DOES have its own web address which can be pasted into sites like KeepVid - however when I do so this a message appears saying that the link doesn't work and is invalid. But it must work and be valid otherwise I wouldn't be able to view the video in the first place.
Can anyone help please?
Hope I've explained this well enough so that it can be understood - sorry, I don't have the greatest technical mind!
Many thanks in advance

The only thing i have ever been able to do in a situation like that is to look at the <html> code of the new window with the video. Occasionally they leave the full URL in the code which can just be used in a program like Keepvid.
But i am not saying for you to do this as it may conflict with any copyrights the composer has (that is why they normally make it difficult to get th video! haha)

In firefox, get a addon called greasemonkety and then you can run an app which auto downloads through another site and converts you youtube videos into mp4 files.
search the firefox site i think the app is called youtube downloader.
However as previously stated be aware of copyright when downloading anything off the web.0 -
It sounds to me as though the composer doesn't want anyone to download his videos, otherwise he would have provided a link to do so.0

Thank you all for your help, especially you bigkasper. Firefox has an add-on called DownloadHelper which has worked! Thanks again.0
