BT Unlimited Anytime Plan

Hey all,

I was wondering if any of you guys were on this plan and what do you think of it? Its £10.50 line rental plus £4.95 for unlimited calls to UK landlines numbers. We are already with BT's Evening & Weekend package but are getting stung by the 4p per min charges during the day - we make a lot of calls during the day. Don't really call mobiles - mainly local.

Does this sound like a good deal? We wanted to stay with BT because we wanted to get O2 broadband which you need a BT line.

Any advice appericated. Thanks.

I believe they have an offer on at the moment..unlimited calls for £5.95 a month, free for the first 3 months. Works out slightly cheaper over the 12 months.

I would say that is as good as any deal for unlimited 24/7 calls provided you are happy to sign up to the rolling 12 month contract with BT which I assume you are on (otherwise I think you would be paying more than £4.95?). You say you make a lot of calls during the day so I'm assuming this is more than 100 per month? If you make less than about 100 calls to geographic numbers then 18185 would be cheaper on their 5p per call charge with no per minute charge.

Cool, I'll have to look out for that, thanks.

Yeah £5.95 with no minimum 12 month contract, have been looking into 18185 we do make more than 100 p/m during the day - talk a lot lol.

FrOsT if you do sign up for the unlimited plan, you wont need 18185. I dropprd that when I signed up for 24/7 free calls and have not looked back since. (unless for such as cheaper international calls)

I just got my BT line installed on Monday on an 18 month contract and didn't sign up for this but when my welcome paperwork came in today it says I am on it at £5.95 a month, I hardly use the phone, only got it put in so could get O2 broadband. It does seem a good deal if you use the phone a lot and I would stick with it if I used the phone more.
Am a bit peed off that they have signed me up for it when I just wanted the baasic, I have now changed it online and removed the Mobile Saver that it says on my paperwork is free but said on my online account it was £1.50 a month.

Some of BT's free saver schemes are charged at normal rate, and then refunded as a discount on the bill, not sure if this applies to mobile saver, but it could explain the discrepancy. It's will be in the small print if this is the case. Simplification is not a word in BT's vocabulary. Also make sure you pay by direct debit, saves £1.50/month.

Thanks loaner, I have signed up for direct debit and paperless billing so my bill should only be £10.50 a month, will keep an eye on it to make sure as I don't trust BT!
Looking again at the small print it says 3 months free but have removed it anyway as get free calls on my mobile so won't be using landline for mobile calls.

Just a note, the reason they charged you £1.50 was because it comes free with the Anytime package which you originally had but charged you when you changed packages - I know doesn't make a different as you're not using it now. :)

That reminds me, have got to go DD, we normally pay by cash quarterly.

Just to add if you go on the unlimited anytime service it's a new contract and in my case they charge you a fee of 3 months line rental advance payment.
It's no mentioned anywhere in the sign up contract!

Just found this information out, the current charge for the anytime service is £15.45 per month, but this price is only if you use Direct Debit billing and paperless billing. So if you do not use these options you will be charged an extra £2.75 per month!
BT also charges an additional fee which they do not tell you about on sign up for Anytime calls, it's for Direct Debit billing, the charge is to keep your account in credit in case of calls to mobile calls, 0845 No's, etc.
I get charged an extra £2.45 on top of the £15.45 per month even though I rarely call mobiles etc

So the £15.45 quoted Anytime Calls service is not what it seems!
