At the risk of stating the obvious, I take it that the wife to be hasn't gathered it up with other items in readiness for the honeymoon?

Contact your travel insurance. They could well be the ones picking up the bill for a cancelled honeymoon, and so are likely to work hard to find possible solutions.

Many companies will only offer a small amount for loss of passport, if anything at all. As an example, Direct Line will only offer £250 (and this is only if it is reported to the police). Also, in the case of those that do offer cover, this will only apply if lost during the holiday.

    Thank goodness for that!

Perhaps you should give it to your gf for safe keeping now?

Phew! Have a great time Richie :D
  • lol this is why i look after all the important documents for myself and OH at home. for some reason though, perhaps a display of macho-ness, he feels the desire to hold them in the airport and on the place, but that has since been rectified after he dropped in the sink at the toilets not once but twice in the same day!!! soggy passports get funny looks as you board and don't scan well ;)
