AVG 8 Problems

Since upgrading from AVG 7.5 to AVG 8 last week, I have noticed that the Start-up time has increased four-fold. (Web-browsing, however, hasn't taken any longer than usual).
I uninstalled my AVG 7.5 before installing AVG 8, used CCleaner as advised, updated Windows stuff, and defragged which took hours to complete!
It is still taking far too long to start-up. Has anyone else had this problem?
Incidentally, upon start-up, I'm getting the notice popping up.....
"Smart Bridge Alerts: BT Help Notifier.exe. Entry Point Not Found.
The procedure entry point Get Processing Image File Name W could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL.
(Button) OK."
Can anyone explain?
