i haven't had a drink since a party thread ages ago. I decided to open some brandy i bought back from portugal about three years ago...tastes even better for the waiting as well.
Oooh, post a link, I would like to have a go
I got some port form somewhere once, I opened it when I got home and it was terrible, I left it for a year and it was pure nectar - yum.£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

Totally agree skintas, i loved it. I really like the new harbour, fantastic. We were sat in a tapas bar until 3 in the morning, then up early for sight seeing..determined not to miss anything.
I am just off to find the link for cherry brandy, also did one for sloe gin a couple of years ago.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Sounds like a nice break, always wanted to go there. Didn't know Ryanair went from Newquay though.
Yeah and it's dead cheap - if their website would work!boredofbeingathome wrote: »Gemmzie, barcelona is fairly cheap from airport and it has one of the best duty free shopping villages i have been in.last year it was 25 euros from airport to the university, where our apartments were near. There is a regular bus service for about 10 euros. if there are a few of you it works out cheaper with the taxi.
Sounds good, there's definitely 3, possibly 5 of usbarcelona what a lovely city, esp the grand familia, what a site esp in the morning about 9 am the sun is out and not many people aabout, i walked for miles last year when i went there was staying in lloret de mar, baracelona was brilliant. was visting my brother , it was a day not to forget
I'm soooo desperate to go! I've found a 3 star hotel in Loret De Marr, would you recommend the area then?No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

Thank you very much, i love sloe gin too, OH's dad has sloes in his garden so I am hopeful to get some. I am sure the pricking will be a novelty for the first five minutes (then I will make OH do it).
EDIT: I just realised I rudely demanded a link earlier - sorry, must be the booze talking. I do appreciate you going to get it for me, thank you very much£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

Gemmzie, make sure you save enough money for the ramblas as well, and the duty free is brill.
There are lots of shops and food is fantastic, clean fresh and well prepared. I dont think i have been to a better city yet. And it has a beach as well.
the open top bus tours are fab, about 23 euros for the day, but i think you can get a cheaper deal if you go over two days.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

What's the ramblas? Apparently we have to avoid that on the Saturday as there's football on :rolleyes:No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

One of the main streets, it can get quite hectic. I am with BOB - I love Barcelona. Gemmzie, my brain thinks you are veggie?? is that right. If not there is a brilliant argentinian restaurant in one of the back roads off of la ramblas, but if you are veggie it will be hell, if not I will see if I can find the details.£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)
