Gas or electric kettle

The ones I have seen, and others I have heard about, make no claim about insulation.
Their 'eco' claim is centred on the ability to accurately measure quantities of water for boiling.
See:

I was suggesting how it could actually be eco, not really interested in what manufacturers etc say about their products. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -

It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
I've got a whistler on the gas hob too! I feel all smug when there's a power cut!
They must be cheaper if you consider that they don't need replacing?Best wins: ITV Real Deal CASH,Trip to Lapland.0 -

Yeah, forgot about the power-cut thing. But then before we had the whistling kettle, we used a saucepan to make a hot drink during the power-cuts and during the times the electric kettle had failed again. I remember a time when people simply replaced the element on the electric kettles when they failed - now it's just throw them away and buy a new one altogether. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... Going slightly off topic, when I have a shower now I turn the water off on the shower after the initial wetting of the skin and have found that by using my net body scrubber {can't remember the exact name of the item} more lather is made and I can wash the whole of my body in lots of lather and then i just turn the water back on to rinse myself off.
I would be interested to hear if any one else has tried this and whether it made much difference to their water bills...
This is known as a 'navy' shower. Not a lot of water on battle ships I believe0
