Kitchen quote

Hi, as a follow on to my first post, i would welcome opinions on this quote also
Kitchen : Remove existing kitchen, assemble and fit new units, 8 base 5 wall and one fridge/ freezeer integrated tall unit, core hole for external extraction all plumbing all gas work all electrical. £2140
Price does not include fitting worktops as we are still deciding what to fit, gas would appear to be remove and re-fit hob, electrical would appear to be install fridge freezer, oven and under lights on wall units, plumbing i assume is sink and new integrated washing machine. Need to contact joiner to confirm this as his quote is vague. He is friendly with , and recommended to me by plumber who fitted my boiler and is quoting for the bathroom.

I would say that was expensive, but it depends which part of the country you're in. I do kitchens (in the North West) and that is way over what I would be charging for what sounds like a fairly standard job, maybe a weeks work or less. I'd get a breakdown of what you're getting so you're sure everything is included and the final bill doesn't end up even higher.
Saying that, I would never employ a 'cheap' kitchen fitter, why spend thousands on a kitchen then get some muppet to make a mess of fitting it. And I speak from experience. The best thing to do is get a recommendation, not from a mates mate but from a previous customer.0 -
Thanks Claretlass, my gut feeling was the same, i'm in Ayrshire, don't think we normally pay London prices here. Had used UKWoody's guide to price it out then added a little more for assembling the cabinets and it stil seemed expensive. Problem i'm having is finding a decent fitter, don't have any recommends that ive been able to view. Son's workmate passed on a number tonight so i'll give him a call see what he says. Appreciate you taking time to post.0
