Help! Should I change my mind
I have just put in a switch to BG for the click5 from Ebico.
Now thinking may be the eon capped would be better with all these predicted price increases its only 2% more than I am currently paying BG is showing as 11% cheaper.
Should I stop the transfer and change my mind, its doing my head in! Thanks for any help. :money:

If I read it correctly, you are looking at paying about 13% more today in order to cap prices for 14 months.
How much do you think prices will increase by and when.
Taking Martins article, prices could increase by 15% - 45% possibly as late as 7 months time. The BBC reported a rise no greater than 40% within 6 months.
If you think prices will only rise 15% and not until Jan, you're probably better off not switching.
If you think prices are going up by 45% next week - switch now!
(but if the supplier thought they were going to put prices up by 45% next week - they wouldn't be offering to cap them for 14 months for 13% today, unless they planned to bring them down again shortly

Thanks for your reply. I have cancelled BG transfer, but maybe I shouldnt have done, I really dont know whether to go to BG or Eon!
I dont think they will go up 45% tomorrow, and I would be very shocked if they went up that much but who knows.Pawpurrs x

Ah, now you complicated it further.
In your situation now, for just 2% premium you could cap rates.
That seems a very small premium to pay to the security the capped rate offers.
That's the danger of doing nothing I suppose - and doing nothing is costing you 11%
(This isn't coming accross right, if I worked for eon I could be head of marketing with spin like this!)
Let's try again with a bit more impartiality:
Switch to BG and save 11%
Stay with ebico - they are a really nice company offering an equitable and fair price to all.
Move to eon capped - you will pay a premium today but benefit from knowing prices will not go above a certain level for the next 14 months.
Sorry, that doesn't really help you does it?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Not really! LOL!
Think I should go with eon and then keep an eye on whats happening, as you say it gives peace of mind, I expect something to go wrong though, what with all my messing about :rotfl:
Thanks for your help!
BTW who are you with?Pawpurrs x

<cough>ebico<cough>:D...BTW who are you with?
That's probably why the response regarding them may not be quite as impartial as the other two
To be honest, if I could cap for 2% premium I probably would, although 11% saving sounds good too. My saving with BG is only about 5-6% but I don't like the monthly DD or online billing I would otherwise need to agree to."Now to trolling as a concept. .... I have been very pleased with the CS at southern, but am concerned about further price rises, as well.Pawpurrs x
