c drive is blue

Options
Hi guys...........me again:o

Since I tryed to do a spot of general tidying up/pc maintenance and solve my space problem I think I may have b*llsed up somewhere.

Everything seems to be running ok and the old avg has gone and avast and superspyware is in. No bugs so I am happy there.

However, I now appear to have a genuine space problem on the c drive and it now appears blue in my computer screen.

It only has 3% available and I am sure loads of it is unnecessary. I have tried disk clean up, used the check now tool, ran cc cleaner (not entirely sure what I am doing there:o )and of course it won't defrag.

Can I delete all the old updates for java etc? How can I find out what I need and what I don't? Sorry for being so dumn... but please try and reply as if you were addressing a small child with clear jargon free instructions...... I'm obedient but technically dim :o .

Thanx

    Oh dear

so how do I discover if things have been compressed twice?

I have done a search for large files and there are A LOT!!!

My darling boy has a few large videos which I shall be asking him about later - no not THOSE sort of videos but spacey none the less. Also all the servicepacks are blue.... are they supposed to be?

If I have the latest java update - do I need the earlier ones? I thought it deleted the old ones automatically???
