Barclay card... not sure if they want me

Hi everyone,
I have just applied for a Barclay Card (the one for people who want to strengthen their credit score) and it said it would give me a 60 second decision but then it said it couldn't and that it would let me know in due course.
I have a couple of questions, firstly does anyone know how long this sort of thing takes?
Secondly, is there a common reason why they wouldn't have been able to make the decision in the advertised time?
I had a look at my info with Experian and there seemed to be nothing untoward on there. I have a current account with an overdraft (i am within my limit) with Barclays bank, could that affect it? Also i have never had a credit card before but i didn't think that would be a problem as it was a card aimed at people whi may not have had one before.
Any advice would be appreciated,
:)

I applied for a Barclaycard Initial (the same card as you I think) and got told the same thing. Within 10 days I had a shiny new card! So don't fret!
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.
  • Thanks for the reassurance... everyone's so nice on here!x

    That's quite alright EmeraldAceBurlesque !

Although I should point out that I have also been rejected for a different card after being told "we'll get back to you"... but I think with the Barclaycard Initial you should be okay, unless you've been in the country less than 6 months.

  • I had that very same message and was expecting a rejection letter in the post. Within a week I had a shiny new card along with details of the limit. :j
