Will breifly outline nightmare having with hsbc hoping for some advice:
Bought a wii online on 12/12/07 with HSBC M/C for £180, retailer had none in stock in time for xmas delivery, by email he confirmed (numerous times) he would refund the cost (T&Cs said all ok anyway)
Not had money back so opened a chargeback with HSBC on 12/3/08, as they advised had to wait 60 days etc, filled in forms posted off, they lost 2 sets of our correspondence, finally got the emails etc all ok
Had not heard anything, calling once a week to check progress, received 2 letters asking for more information, called saying all info provided, yes they said all ok should get money by 9/6/08, nothing!
Keep calling getting yes its ok money back soon which doesn't materialise then get letters asking for more info, call and they say ignore letter its all ok
Truly miffed at this now can never get through to uk dept all abroad call centres, they made mistakes with my mobile number 3 times, despite on every call me correcting them, think they are a bunch of cowboys where the left hand doesn#'t know what the right is doing
can any help, do you have english contact numbers or anyone experienced this before?
many thanks

When I called their credit card sales line, that was UK based, maybe try that and say you need to speak to someone in the UK about your chargeback?Kavanne

Search on www.saynoto0870.com for a number for them, it should mention whether it is UK based or not.
I was having lots of problems with my Barclaycard last month, and the Indian call center was useless. They didn't understand my problem and kept saying everything is fine as long as you cover your balance in full blah blah, that was my point!! I finally found a number for a UK call center and in phone 5 minute phone call they sorted it.0
