Zante / Zakynthos - who's been?

Yes it's a real shame what happened to Zante. I went there 22 years ago and it was truly beautiful. Hardly anything at Laganas then. The beaches were almost deserted. Couldn't go back now that I've seen photo's of what it's like now.0

Hi everyone
Thank you so much - especially Chester_Draws. The idea about the wrapping up of presents is fantastic, definately will be doing that. I've read some other bits about taking small children and ways to entertain them... the flight is a bit scary, neither of them have flown before and we're getting a 6am flight. I've been on flights before with other children who cry & moan for hours on end... I once had an 8 hour flight to Dubai and 2 young children behind me were shouting and kicking the back of my chair... stress levels were immense!
Again - thanks for all the advice, reviews, tips, opinions (good and bad)... I'll post on here again when I get back.
Cheers

Been going to Zante for 10 years, staying in Alykanas though, and we usually go May (yes..... we love the island). The locals are so friendly and love children. Been over to Tsilivi a couple of times for the day, and have known friends to stay there and they enjoyed it. Yes watch out for the dreaded airport but like said if you are prepared at least you know. Saying that we have never experienced a delay there (touch wood), but arrivals to me is the worst, especailly if 3 planes land within 10 or 15 mins of each other. Zante town is more a working town, shops are nothing much different than what you can buy on resort. All in all you should have a great holiday, I am sure you will.
