No free wine from First Direct ~ Visa card

I've just been messaged from FD to say that the free 6 bottles of wine promotion did not apply to the Gold Visa Card.
Anyone else with a similar story.
Is it sharp practice / misleading advertising by FD?
I'll cut up my card, I only applied (got the card) to get the wine as this site suggested.
Cheers (or not)

I've had 2 similar issues with FD. The first was when I applied for a bank account with them, at a time they were offering £20 or £50 for new bank account customers. When I received nothing and called them, they told me that because I had had a credit card with them which had been closed 2 years earlier, I was not a "new customer".
The second example was when they had a promotion for customers who applied for a second product with them. I opened up a savings account and once again I received nothing. Once again they wriggled out of it.
On both occasions I had applied from an application button on their website that was specifically for the promotion, so I felt pretty hard done by. I am pretty good at reading Ts & Cs (after all, I am a seasoned stoozer
) ) but missed both of those exclusions if they were in there.

Thanks Clariman.
I've told them I'll cut up my card.
So, it's cost them a lot to get whatever they get from a single token transaction of <£5.00.
It might just spur me onto shifting our current accounts also.
