2 student bank account

I am wondering if you can have 2 student bank accounts?

Depends who with. If you have one with HSBC then no. Read the T&Cs on the accounts. (HSBC say you can only have one student account if you choose us)

If you want to behave yourself, then technically no, most banks will insist that, as a condition of giving you the student account, that you pay your student loan into it. As you can't pay the loan into two places at once, it generally means you can only have one account.

However, some banks do not have this rule (can't think of one off the top of my head - don't think Barclay's do?) so you could maybe have two in that case... that is if you can't resist temptation to spend the two overdrafts! I've heard cases of people having their bank find out they have a second student account, closing the account you have with them and demanding the overdraft back! :eek:

Best just finding one that is best suited to your needs and going with that!

you can get 2 accounts but if they find out they can demand you pay back all the money from the overdraft and make your life very difficult. far better to do as greyskymorning says and stick with one that is best for you.

are there other reasons you need the money than anyone can help address? there may be better solutions to your situation.

Lloyds don't. Funny thing is I pay my loan into my HSBC account which isn't a proper student account, whereas my Lloyds is a full student account. When opening one with lloyds they required at least 3 transactions in the year or something so meh.
