Which is why my one armed friend doesn't get DLA as a loss of an arm does not affect his walking, only his writing (as he now has to use his left hand)
DLA is split in two types ones for mobility and one for care. You one armed friend would get care not sure at what level. My husband does as is one handed after a stroke and he is unable to chop and peel veggies which means he passes for lower rate care.

Thank you for your help! Doesn't seem worth applying then, but it worth asking. :beer:0

You've got nothing to lose if you apply and get turned down. They are hard to fill in though.0

Anyone know and how much (roughly) it would be? I couldn't find much info online. I sometimes bump in to people in the street and it effects my reactions. I also have bad sensitivity to light, meaning I have to look downwards in bright sunlight.
Thanks!
Anyone can apply for DLA but being awarded will be dependant on what your care/mobility needs are.
It is possible that you could be awarded DLA for being blind in one eye. Your best bet is to put a claim form in and be totally honest and see (no pun intended) what happens!
My DD is 13 and receives DLA. She is legally blind in one eye and partially sighted in the other. She has been receiving since she was 3 and has been awarded till she is 16. Her vision will never improve even after painful eye operations but will probably go completely by the time she is in her 30's. She wants to be a Zoologist and we have never let her vision (or lack of) stop her from doing anything!
If you do decide to apply for DLA, get as much support as possible from your GP, opthromologist (sp) and any social worker or OT etc.
I hope that helps somewhat.
Hugs
