First I try the Memory Advisor..... which does not have the E6100
Then I try a system scan and it tells me my Packard Bell E6100 with 256MB in each slot is a Mitac that supports a max of 512MB!!!! (2x256MB)
Now, hopefully the crucial site is just bollox and I can comfortably replace one 256MB 2700 333MHZ ram board with a 512MB giving 768MB of Ram??
(The 256MB taken out will go in daughters compatible thinkpad)

Assuming it's an E6 series then 2*512MB 200-pin, non-ECC PC2700 DDR SO-DIMM according to Packard Bell.0

Yes, it's the E6 series, ans 2 x 512mb sounds more like it..... And I'm assuming also that I can mix 512MB and 256MB..... Thanks. The MSE Dictionary

you can mix the different size ram chips without problemsI no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
