My friends car engine has given up the ghost....apparently as a result of a faulty oil filter, which is, it seems, a common problem. So much so that the garage cannot source a second hand replacement.

So if anyone knows of a source of second hand corsa engines in the North West(where she lives)it would be much appreciated.:D

What you want to do is shoe horn in the 2.0 16v redtop engine...

Well maybe you don't but it'd be a lot of fun.

Try the forums on Migweb for an engine or ebay, try to see it running and if the seller offers to show you it running but then asks you to return to collect it, make a note of the engine number and check it's the same engine

Just had a look on Migweb, there is a 1.6 8v engine on there for £40

    These sites work very well.
Just fill in the details and if anyone has one they will call you with a price.

Thanks for the interest....she has had to send the car to a garage which do the whole job as no one wanted to put in a a part which had been sourced elsewhere in case it failed, and then there was an argument over who was responsible, the fitter or the supplier. Not a cheap job,but as the car is apparently valued at 2k as a part ex it seems worth it.
