EBuyer: Rubbish Customer Service

Yes, super cheap, but also super rubbish support.

Bought a DVD player from them, but drawer would not come out more than 1 inch, just stopped and juddered a lot. Tried to open it many times, every time the same.

Took ages to get RMA (everything done via web), now they say there was no fault (magically repaired itself no doubt) and are trying to charge me to send it back to me.

I will never order from them again, and have warned friends never to use them.

Many other agree.

Don't be tempted by their low prices, I was and now
wish I'd done a web search first.

  • Hope you have got it sorted, they are basically begining to sound like a right rip off :(, these sort of companies do not usually last that long. I bought a new Tft monitor the other day and was going to use ebuyer or another internet company, but in the end, even though it cost a bit more, I went to Argos. I was worried about what would happen if it turned up with dead pixels etc, thought i was just being an old worry guts but after reading some of the threads on here I am glad I went to Argos, sometimes there is a lot to be said for being able to stand face to face with someone, and being able to shake them by the neck if they refuse to hand your money over!!! ;D

Have had a look at ebuyer but never seems much on interest on there.

Will steer well clear in future...

I just pop in now and then.... :)

Never had a problem with them and we've had a few major purchases from them. Then again, we've never had a faulty item....................

  • I have up until now used Ebuyer for about 6 years, never had to return anything due to faulty goods until now, they refunded me wrong (they owe me money) and they do not reply to enotes, emails, ect Beware , Beware, Beware you have been warned.

  • And you dig this one up from over 3 years ago. If you have a problem with there return policy, and they are not replying to you, report them yo trading standards. TS will deal with it.
  • Ive returned 4 things to ebuyer. All got replaces quickly and no problems.

    REMEMBER:

everyone posts bad things but no one posts good things (usually :p). Ebuye ris VERY popular and recommended, even if some people have bad experiences, such is life.

I bought a hard disk from them which was dead on arrival, no problems returning it and they gave me the choice of a refund or replacement. In the end I decided on a refund. I use them a lot, they used to have a bad reputation but nowadays they are much improved.

I like ebuyer. My friend buys from them all the time. I've had a few right bargains from them.

But I have had three issues:

1] DVD burner - I fitted it, it never opened. Couldn't be bothered to go packing it up etc in case they deemed it wasn't at fault
2] Bought some speakers which said they had a remote control, but that was not true. Contacted them and they said I could send them back for money back, but again, who has time for this type of thing! So I live with it, they were cheap.
3] Bought a freeview box - it wasn't clear that it was a 2nd hand unit (until you get it, then start finding the original item you bought on their site and searching to find what Grade A means). Kept it. Too much hassle to start changing my mind and it was cheap.

I would definitely buy from them again, but my major purchases have always arrived without any problem. Their prices are good too.
  • Pastures, i'm confused how you've called them issues. I mean Ebuyer would have replaced all 3 and you chose not to! So that's your problem not theirs! lol. And its the manufacturers problem if things arent included or faulty etc, not ebuyers...
