You can submit your site to the search engine but if you're looking to get it listed on the first 2 pages (98% of search customers come from the first 7 listings in google) then it's a complex issue. It depends on keywords, page title, metatags and links. It's the wholly grail of most online businesses to be on the first page of google. Its very tough to get a site noticed, there are lots of SEO companies who offer good SEO services, However I would recommend WildcatSEO who are based in the UK, there is also some good articles on the site as well as a social networking list where you can promote your own website using the links
Hope you site is soon top.Its a jungle out there...0 -
You basically need to have a popular site that is linked to from lots of different sites.0

Start with submitting your site to Google for free. Google is the main search engine you want to get on.

A lot depends what the subject matter of your website is - do you have a niche market?
SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is a science in itself which you can do yourself to a degree but I wouldn't pay for it.0 -
