How about hunting for Boden bargains on Ebay? Set yourself a budget - e.g. £50 - and put the rest of the money that you would have spent on new stuff towards your debts instead. That way the kids look great and you'll feel v. virtuous for clearing a bit more of your debt!

I have voted by thanking everyone who has responded to this quandry so I think you know what my response is.

I, personally, do not agree in putting children into designer labels from a young age, unless of course you can afford to without going into debt. I just feel it puts far too much pressure on parents who are struggling to keep up with the latest trends and images for fear their kids will be picked on in the playground. Who are they really trying to keep up with? The bullies in the playground who's parents have possibly bowed to such pressures and who may be in debt because of it.

    Sorry, rant over.

Sorry if my opinion upsets or offends anyone but I'm entitled to it and I hate the thought of kids being picked on because of what they are or are not wearing.

Save the money! Think how long it would take to earn that money and how it could be spent on things you really need... You can get plenty of nice clothes for a lot less :). If you're in debt then think how good it would be to clear that £100 off of your debts instead of having the low after spending that amount of money.

My favourite suit of all time was knocked up by a mate of mine on her sewing machine, using a pair of curtains from a charity shop (very Sound of Music). She even put a designer label in it from some piece of tat she picked up the same time. It looked fab, and yes I was a grown up and quite discerning at the time!

Boden's sale should be starting in the next day or two so buy the stuff that's 50% off, if you choose carefully you should be able to sell it on ebay next year for about the same as what you paid - that's what i've been doing for years anyhow!

Will your children really look more beautiful in the expensive clothes? Or are they beautiful enough already? :) :A

There you go then, you don't need them! :p

I LOVE BODEN....yep Ive been in the same quandry. But you know what I have been buying most of my stuff off ebay and the quality is great. I buy in the sale stuff for the following year and if some of it doesn't fit then sell it on ebay and make a profit. In fact I have bought great stuff off ebay, my daughter worn it for a year and then sold it on for more than I paid for it.
Hang in there and wait for the sale in the next couple of days :)
