I have been home educating now for seven years. They were 13,11 and 8 when we deregistered them.
One has done A levels, the other two chose to not do them and instead are using the OU to get the qualifications they need, one will be using the OU to get her whole degree.
Joining in with the home ed community locally and nationally means they have a social life that is the envy of their schooled peers and cousins.
IMO The best sites to start with home education are the two main websites
https://www.education-otherwise.org
https://www.home-education.org.uk
both of these sites have links to tell you all about home education, all the legal bits and also links to home ed support lists and to finding Home Ed groups local to you.
Then there is
https://www.home-ed.info -an independent website, with loads of support and resources.
The lady who runs this website home educated her boys through their teenage years.
https://www.he-special.org.uk for folks home educating, or considering home educating children with SEN.
and https://www.muddlepuddle.co.uk a website for families home educating young children.Home Educating in Worcestershire
