  • I'm a new member and need help. I'm a widow and retired,I have some savings but not sure what account to put it in. I don't want to tie it up,because of my age,so I would be greatful for any advice. My fear is to loose the funds because of the countries financial problems at the moment.

    if you want easy access and are happy to have an internet only account you can go for Kaupthing edge/ICICI/ICESAVE but if you would prefer to go with a branch based account on the high street have a look at moneyfacts for the best rates - also there are other threads on here showing which institutions are protected by the gaurantee of £35000
