ATM Scandal

Ha! I got well stitched by my bank. I was in France back in July, and withdrew 40 euros from the airport ATM. When I got my bank statement a while later, it showed 2 transactions for the same amount.
I knew I had only taken out one lot of money, so i reported it and had to fill a form in - eventually they got back to me, and the long and short of it was - tough! They said as there were 2 seperate authorisation codes, there must have been two withdrawals.
Whilst I appreciate this logic, it does not detract from the fact that I only made one withdrawal! Grrrrr."It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that, I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'."

It's interesting to see how many Money Savers believe that banks will do the right thing.......
As it happens, my mother's bank checked the machine, said that it balanced and are refusing to give my mother the £200 she never got from the ATM. So she is now £200 out of pocket.0 -
So someone else took the money - that's not the bank's fault.0

It makes me so sad that we now think it takes someone 'special' to be honest and to think of others rather than ourselves. Once upon a time that was norm. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

If this their final answer then I would advise that she reports the matter to the police as theft and get a crime reference number, go back to the branch and say that she wishes to invoke their complaints procedure giving them the crime reference number as a starting point.
When she has done this please post here their response.
