Tax credits and working for staff bank.

Hi, i just got a job with the hospital staff bank and i'm wondering what should i do with tax credits, should i give an estimation for the years earnings so they can adjust the amounts rather than leaving it and getting walloped with an over payment??

I would imaging the maximum would be around 5K a year as i am limited to evenings and weekends but tax creditss say i would be listed as employed but the changes would not take place until next april but if im earning and they are paying me as if i am not earning that means nexts years award would be reduced to nil or there abouts?

They asked if i could do a rough figure which seems more logical as if i dont hit the figure i should get a bit of back pay.

Any help would be great

I personally would give an estimate, then if they underpay you great stuff, i wouldn't want to risk having a huge back pay though.

Second Boppy's post. In addition, if it looks like you're going to be way out from the estimate come December/January, notify them as it still gives them time to alter payments sufficiently for the remaining few months so that you don't end up with a massive overpayment and if you've been underpaid, would provide a nice cheque for the January Sales.

What I did last year was work out roughly what I would earn (averaging a shift and a half a week) and declare that I worked 10 hours a week (because that was the average) - some weeks I did a lot more others I didn't work at all
