    update :

    HSBC Loan now : £7346
    Credit Card now : £4700 (24.9% apr)
    Northern Rock now : £2588
    Overdraft down to : £1400

excited that my graduate loan will now be in the 6000's from next month.

The only downer is that i can't get a credit card which i can transfer balance to. I was tempted by the Barclay card simplicity at 6.8%apr, but their pre-check application only told me i had an 70-80% chance of getting one of the other cards at 29.9%apr, the simplicity didn't seem to be an option.

    anyway. credit reports ordered.

just to think that when CC+GL+NR are all paid off i'll have a whole extra £655 / month for me!

    update:
    HSBC Loan now : £4046.13
    Credit Card now : £4311 (24.9% apr)
    Northern Rock now : £1411
    Overdraft down to : £1400

Credit reports seem fine, although i still can't seem to get a credit card to help with the CC aspect.

so close now. 11 months to go. its taking a massive strain now on all aspects of my life, especially personally, as my life is technically on hold, where-as other people want to move forward.

    Hi Kolin

Just wondered whether you ever got your PPI back from HSBC? They caved really easily for me!

No i never applied to get my PPI back from HSBC, only because i remember taking it out, and i was in full time employment at the time, so i'm keeping it at the moment just in case.
I don't want to upset the process as once i complete my graduate loan i get back 25% of the interest i've paid.

i did get my northern rock PPI back though, and got ~£900

    ** UPDATE **

Nearly nearly there... Applied for my PPI back from HSBC and got it! :) got £4400, and the rest of my hsbc loan paid off. Used this to pay off the rest of my Northern rock loan (£1000) and my Overdraft (£1500) and gave £1000 to my other half, as she has been exceptionally patient with me, and had been paying £100 of the monthly bills for me for the last year

    so...

    [STRIKE]HSBC Loan now : £4046.13[/STRIKE]
    Credit Card now : £3999 (24.9% apr)
    [STRIKE]Northern Rock now : £1411[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Overdraft down to : £1400[/STRIKE]

    is all we have left!

It felt so absolutely amazing to be practically debt free now, and was quite overwhelming at the time. after 12 years of being in debt, it's virtually all gone now. and i'm going to be having an extra £600 a month disposable income, that is all mine! I can now save comfortably for the bigger things in life :)

    GET IN :D

Great news, £30,500 to £3999 is really quite a mission. Well done, hopefully the last one will go much easier for you.
