Prepaid cards - highstreet availability

in order to not go any further into debt, I'm no longer using my credit cards.

BUT i need to make a payment to my web hosting provider in the US which I can't do without a credit card. So I'm lookign fro a prepaid credit card, but I need it sorted in the next 48 hours.

Is there anywhere I can get a prepaid card on the highstreet for use the same day? I've seen you can get burtons cards etc in petrol stations, can you get a CC like this?

Or is there anywhere I can use my switch card online and get a credit card number for use online the same day?

Don't think you will get one anywhere that quick... can you not give a friend/family the cash and use their card in the meantime?

Do a search on IDT's website (IDT Prime), you can buy a Mastercard in certain stores and use them straight away. Tuxedo might be another one, by I think the in-shop product is the Maestro card rather than Mastercard.

Only problem you may have is if the website that is taking the payment requires address authorisation i.e. confirmation the card is registered to a particular address. As these ones does not come like that but it can be added, dont know how long it take though I am afraid. You will need to fax of proof of ID / address and then they upload it onto their server.

I saw a prepaid card amongst the vouchers and cards for sale at my local petrol station. I think it was a Maestro and was priced at £9.99.

Any I have seen that you can buy there and then are debit card's as opposed to credit cards. If the OP needs to pay a US company then they will need a credit card.

smithja's address authorisation point is spot on.

Best bet would to get someone else to allow you use their card for this month/quarter/year's payment in exchange for cash and get themselves a Cashplus Mastercard for next time.

Heck OP if you were local to Glasgow I'd meet you in an Internet cafe and do it for you.
