blocked Hose

Hello we have a Hazellock hose and it's been fine for years. However we got it out yesterday and no water will come out even though the water is going in fine via the small hose fitted to the outside tap. it's quite a good one that you hang on the wall and it's supposed to be anti-kink. anyone any ideas what it might be please?

Think you mean Hozelock but anyway...

Have you actually got a sprinkler or hose gun or anything attached to the end of the hose? If the last fitting is yellow and grey with some red plastic on it will only let water out if you have something connected to it. Check the attachment your using clicks into place. If the fitting is yellow and grey only then that shouldn't be the problem.

If that's not the problem (and assuming no kinks!) then i'd remove the fitting on the end (the one you attach sprinkler/hose gun to - twist the grey bit to unscrew it and pull off) and see if water comes out when you turn the tap on. Do the same with every other fitting including where the small pipe connect to reel and where long pipe connects to reel. Rinse each one out under the tap in case they are blocked.

If need be you may have to replace the fittings. However don't get them from Homebase/B&Q or garden centre as the prices for hozelock parts are extortionate (i paid about £6 for a replacement hozelock tap connector and hose connector in homebase!). Look on ebay as there's load of hozelocks parts on there for a lower price (even after postage). I picked up 2 hosepipe joiners for a couple of quid off ebay after i accidentally pierced our hosepipe with the garden fork when spiking my lawn!
