i was wondering if anyone had any ideas about call forwarding...i mean, would a landline (BT) forward a call to a mobile number ? i know this will cost me to forward calls coz i will have to pay mobile call charges on my own landline as its forwarding the call...but is there any loophole ?
or the whole situation could be vice versa ?
thank you

First BT 'gave' us free 1571 - and that's earned them millions because every call gets an answer - even if the called number is engaged;
Then they gave us free caller display - a neat way of wrong-footing other firms trying to get in on the landline rental market by re-selling BT lines;
I wonder how long it'll be before they realise the earning potential of offering a 'free' call forwarding capability - where an incoming call (possibly not made on their network) becomes another call (on their network)?Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").0 -

umm i didnt get what you mean can you explain0 -
So you want them to give away a free call every time your phone is on divert, rather them charging you for it.Ok perhaps if you were diverting to another landline.But what if you were diverting to a mobile.Do you expect BT to pick up the extra cost for that?PF.0

Pricefighter, I think April meant that the facility to divert would be free, rather than the diverted calls being free. After all, the post was about the potential additional revenue earned by BT if the facility were free. If April had meant that both the facility and the calls were free, then BT wouldn't get the additional revenue. If BT offered call forwarding as a free facility, then potentially more people would use it and BT would make more money on diverted calls than they do at present.0

At the moment I believe there is a subscription for call divert. I also thought that April2 was proposing BT abolish this, as they have done with those other services recently.0

Indeed, that was what I meant santana-mx3 and 2ax - although I obviously didn't make myself very clear (and, checking the grammar and typos, I'm not surprised I confused readers)!Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
