Artificial Hanging baskets Versus Topiarys
Hello there,
I have a large garden with 3 stone planters which i fill each year with hanging baskets + two in the front garden---so 5 hangers.
I have tried to save money by growing my own, but think it is cheaper to buy massive ones from local nursery at 15 each--and they really are huge
(total cost each year 75)
the thing is this, i am a bit fed up of having to look after them, and as i work away from time to time, my husband doesnt always care for them as he should.
So, should i buy some artificial baskets ( and if so, from where at a reasonable price?-) or are these a bit naff to you gardeners?
the second thing i thought of was buying those topiary ball things to stick in the planters-- but do you think the whole garden will then look a bit green ( weve only got one twerpy border, but the garden is nearly 1/3 of acre, so too much for me to sort out)
would be grateful for opinions/advice.
many thanks:j
