I have bought one from focus and it doesn't seem to want to go up straight, what i mean is that it leans downwards when on the bracket..the bracket is solid against the wall but the shelf doesn't sit straight and i have no idea why? Im so stressed and fed up with it as we have a new house and i have potentially ruined the walls..it's a partition wall btw but i have used the correct screws and plugs etc..
Any ideas please before i put it somewhere i shouldn't!!

Maybe try putting some kind of spacer (e.g. washer) behind the bottom fixings on the brackets, so the brackets are facing up slightly?Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0

>we have a new house<
The quality in new-builds is pretty poor - chances are the wall is leaning too. Have you got a spirit-level to check whether the brackets are horizontal?0 -
Check the trueness of the wall (spirit level), if that straight, then as already suggested, check the bracket is the right way up, if it is then, again as suggested, try packing out the bottom part of the bracket so that the support is horizontal.0

Hi thanks guys..the wall is fine!! Knew the old 'new house' theorys would crop up but really the wall is totally level..it's hard to explain but the bracket goes into the back of the shelf so cannot be flush to the wall if that makes sense although i cannot see a way round it tbh, really it can't be this complicated can it? And yes the bracket was the right way i have even tried it the other way incase i am going mad!!0

maybe is a dodgy bracket / shelf???You may walk and you may run
You leave your footprints all around the sun
And every time the storm and the soul wars come
You just keep on walking0 -
Take the bracket off, and re-fix it to the wall the other way up.0

Thanks for the replys..i have tried all and every way until it has finally driven me mad!! I have done a search on here (which i should have done first!!) and they all say that they lean at the front..hopeless so off to take it back and get a different one.Not happy as i really like it.0

A customer of mine asked me to look at a floating shelf that dropped forward. I checked all of the levels etc, but found that the shelf was badly designed. The diameter of the holes (ie the female bit of the shelf) that you slid the round shelf bracket into were somewhat bigger than the diameter of the actual shelf bracket (the male bit). Therefore when it was put up, the difference in diameters between the shelf and bracket meant that the shelf was not a tight fit and therfore dropped down. Very bas design. I have used 2 floating shelves from Ikea and have been pleased with them. The holes in the shelf are a tight fit over the bracket so no sagging.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

if the male parts smaller then the female wrap gaffa tape around the bracket makes it a tighter fit0

Thanks guys! Phil99 i know exactly what you mean and im glad it isn't me no good at putting the darn thing up!! I don't live anywhere near an ikea so that went out the window but i have heard that there's are good.
I went into focus and got a different one, i bought a shelf that matched our kitchen cupboards and got seperate brackets and custom made it myself!! It looks very nice and i am pleased with it even though i love the floating one!! Hey ho..least this doesn't lean!!
Thanks again for all the advice.0
