Credit Card Insurance - Card Protection cheapest??

Just got my renewel forms in from CPP for my card protection.

£29 a year, it's been £10 a year for the last 12 years. Can do a discount of £21.75, but I still think they have a dam nerve on a policy I have never used once.

Anyone know any other firms that can do it cheaper.

    Why have it?
    Why not take precautions yourself?

You can make yourself a list to call in an emergency.
You can stop carrying round your "wordly goods" in your handbag/wallet ;)
You can reduce your cards to only those you need.
Get a safe at home for jewelry and unused cards (cost us £20).

I take the precautions above and I've never had a problem.
    This is the moneysaving approach.
I have a few cards but there really is no need to have loads.
I take out new ones for cashback deals etc. but I always close old ones down so I only keep about 3 credit cards on the go (but don't need to carry them all around at the same time).
