A couple of weeks ago my elderly parents went to tesco in birmingham and while paying at the till mentioned in chatting to the cashier that they always struggle to carry bags home as they do not drive anymore.
Hearing this the checkout girl called customer services and asked for someone to take the shopping home for them. A young lad then proceeded to load a trolley and walk the quarter of a mile home with them and he then insisted on putting the carrier bags in the kitchen onto the worksurfaces for them. He would not accept a tip off them either.
Tesco have told my parents that anytime they are stuck they just have to request that someone helps and it will be done.
My parents are 76 and nearly 80 so WELL DONE TESCO. AAAA++++++
