pre booked taxis Malaga airport

I'm going to Malaga next week to stay with friends and want to pre book a taxi from the airport to their ranch. The service that shows up on the main airport site only covers the main tourist areas and asks that passengers travelling outside the main areas contact them, but I've waited for days now for them to respond to my email and haven't heard anything so i've given up.

I have come across another company called skybusspain.com and wondered if anyone has used them, or whether anyone has any other recommendations. I would prefer to pre book as my Spanish is poor to non existent and it would be ncie to have a fixed quote so I can budget properly.

Thank you

If you have the address written down then you won't need to really speak - I imagine all the taxi drivers at the airport are very used to Brits who dont speak a word of Spanish.

My cousins got into a right mess when we were in Barcelona and ended up phoning me on my mobile so that I could explain where they were going. So even if things got really bad, you could always phone your friends (assuming they speak some Spanish).

Also, try phoning Resort Hoppas or one of the other resort transfer operators to see if they can arrange something not listed - I cant remember who else does this sort of service.

Another local company I found which is a car and driver hire is Autosol - there is a Spanish phone number listed so you could try calling them (I imagine that they speak English). And malagataxi.com - you need to contact for a quote.

Good luck (let me know who you use and if ok as my MIL might be travelling to Malaga and I would have to book something for her).

Just to update on this now I'm back. I did get quotes from several pre booked cab operators, they varied between 72 euros and 115 euros. I booked one, not the cheapest actually, and I never heard back with confirmation despite a couple more emails.

WE did look for them at the airport but they weren't there, so we ended up getting a cab from the rank outside who charged us 58.50 euros on a fixed tariff, so we actually saved money by not pre booking. Coming back it was even cheaper, we went to a cab rank at Alora and again asked about the fixed tariff and were charged 45 euros back.

So save your money, don't pre book and just take a phrase book and get a cab from the main rank.

Also just in case anyone is flying Monarch in and out of Malaga, they are not bothering too much about weight limits going out of gatwick, but they are charging excess baggage over the 20kg coming back, so be warned. Luckily we travel very light and got away with 15kg between us, but the 3 couple in front of us in the queue were all caught out.

There is also a go slow at passport control, which means people are missing flights coming home if they linger in the shopping area as flights are not waiting for them due to the queues to get through passport control, they also will not let you jump the queue even if you are being called by the tannoy system.
